O.U.R.S.E.P.

Our S.T.E.A.M. Enrichment Program

The mission of O.U.R. Science Education Program is to provide engaging STEAM activities for students in all learning environments. OURSEP was built on a strong home-school tradition, committed to the idea that “it takes a village to raise a child." We encourage our parents and children to “learn and play” together in the culturally and economically diverse environments we create to support a well rounded community.

Each class offered in the STEAM Education Program contains several introductions in science, technology, engineering, math and healing science workshops for parents. These introductions highlight the scientific process and its application through hands-on activities relevant to the topic. Each STEAM course series ends in an interactive science and art fair open to the community with learning and fun for everyone!

Service Exploration Program

The mission of O.U.R. Service Exploration Program is to provide meaningful community service and engaging cultural activities for students through world travel. All service exploration classes address a specific social issue or need in the community. We believe that providing authentic cultural experiences will foster a sense of global unity in our students, essential for making responsible and compassionate adults. To that end, we offer global community service and cultural research opportunities as extensions to the STEM Education Program through our Science to Service project for students who have completed relevant courses in our program in preparation for travel and service abroad. Each class in the Service Exploration Program includes in depth group discussions on global issues that effect our community. Together we create actionable plans for our students to address the issue at their stage of development. All programs end with a global community "science-in-culture" arts fair.

Check out our science and service trips to Nigeria, Costa Rica, Virgin Islands and Assateague Island below!

Destination Lagos, Nigeria.

This was our first and most profound service exploration trip as an organization and family. We felt It was only right to go to Africa first and get our community enrolled in the experience. We collected boxes of gifts and supplies for the children there. It was a deeply spiritual trip as 2 of our groups went through their "rights of passage" into manhood.

Destinations Assateague

Island, MD and St. Croix Virgin Islands

This was a really fun camping trip for some of our students from NJ, to come to this wildlife reserve in MD. Assateague is known for it's wild ponies!
